A private, closed-door side-event taking place in conjunction with the Global Maritime Forum Annual Summit 2026 in Shanghai will take stock of the task force work to date and shape the workplan based on input received so far. Since the task force was established at last year’s Annual Summit in Antwerp, it has brought together stakeholders from across the maritime value chain to identify practical ways to strengthen accountability and close gaps that enable substandard and deceptive shipping practices. Through individual and group discussions, including an in-person and a virtual workshop, the task force has begun developing a set of industry best practices and a broader workplan for action towards 2030. The side event will bring together task force members and supporters to reflect on the initial work of the task force and its direction in light of the global context and recent developments.
