Annual Summit 2025 outcomes captured in new report

COPENHAGEN, 17 DECEMBER 2025 – The Global Maritime Forum has released a report capturing the central themes, key takeaways, and proposed next steps that emerged from the Annual Summit 2025 in Antwerp.

The interactive report summarises the many discussions, perspectives, and collaborative sessions that took place at the Annual Summit, held 21-22 October. The report is complemented by video interviews on topics ranging from international maritime governance and policy developments to how today’s geopolitical and economic volatility is influencing strategic choices across the sector.

Held just three days after the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Member States voted to postpone a decision on the Net-Zero Framework (NZF) by 12 months, much of the Annual Summit naturally focused on the maritime sector’s path forward for decarbonisation. The other main themes were how to create a safer and more attractive industry, maritime resilience in a fragmenting world, and scanning the horizon for emerging trends and untapped opportunities.
