As is the case for most things online, the Global Maritime Forum website is constantly developing. Today, roughly a year after launching a revamped low-carbon website, a new feature has been added that allows users to dive into the history of the Global Maritime Forum since its inception in 2017.
The Pathways to Impact interactive journey map details the start of initiatives such as the Getting to Zero Coalition and the All Aboard Alliance, and provides highlights and main takeaways of each year’s Annual Summit.
In addition to demonstrating how the Annual Summit has spurred industry alliances, the interactive feature also demonstrates the interplay between the event and major industry commitments such as the Call to Action for Shipping Decarbonisation and the Neptune Declaration on Seafarer Well-being and Crew Change.
The feature also makes it easier to find the outcomes of each year’s Summit, beginning with the inaugural event in Hong Kong in 2018.
The new interactive feature is an extension of a preexisting journey map created by the Italian-based design house Housatonic. The new feature was developed by the talented web developers at 1508 and is supported by the content platform Contentful, which has made its services available pro bono to organisations like the Global Maritime Forum that are dedicated to driving positive societal impact.
